Teachers and rooms
Updated 28.10.2026
Two directories in the "Main" section. Both are open without signing in.
Both have the "Institutes" filter — the same as everywhere in the app: with institutes chosen, the list keeps only their teachers or rooms, and the choice here changes the institutes on other pages. The search and the other filters are kept in the page address. The "Share" button copies a link to the same selection, "Reset all filters" returns the list to its default view (the reset can be undone right away). If you leave the page and come back through the menu, the filters are restored until the end of the session.
While the list loads and if there is nothing
While the list loads, grey placeholder rows stand in its place. Above the list is "Total: …". If the search finds nothing, the directory says "No teachers found" or "No rooms found" and offers "Clear search". If the list did not load, you see "Could not load the data" (with no connection — "No connection to the server") and the "Try again" button.
Teachers
A list of teachers in alphabetical order, with a letter above each group of surnames, and the search "Search teacher" — by surname or full name, initials allowed ("Ivanov I.I."); the Russian letters "ye" and "yo" are not told apart. Under the name is the department. On a computer the list is split into pages of 50 records; the "Per page" choice is remembered. On a phone the first 20 are shown, with a "Show more" button at the bottom. At the very end of the list, while the search is empty, there is a collapsed index "All teachers A–Z": the letters unfold, and under each are links to the pages of all the teachers.
Tapping a teacher opens their card: a photo, "About" (if filled in), "General information" (date of birth, academic degree and title, department, position, RSCI indicators and the h-index — only what is known is shown), "Groups", "Classes this week", "Experience" and "Education". The "View schedule" button opens the timetable of all this teacher's lessons in all groups; "Profile on the university site" leads to the teacher's page on the university's site. If it is the teacher's birthday today, the card reminds you. If the teacher is confirmed in VISH and has opened their public card for search, the card gets a "Teacher card" link to their "/u/…" page; otherwise there is no link. Nothing else from the public card is shown on this page.
The star on the card adds the teacher to favourites (up to five entries together with groups): they appear in the favourites row in the top bar of the timetable. More in the "Favourites" section of the page Schedule.
The card has a permanent address "/teachers/…", and links lead to it from lessons, from the profile, from user cards and from the "Teachers" tab of the page Occupancy.
Teacher cards for staff
With the "Add and edit manually entered teachers" right, the list has an "Add" button. The "New teacher" form ("Teacher card" when editing) asks for "Full name", optionally a "Short name" (if left empty, it fills in by itself), "Department", "Position", "Profile link", "About" and "Photo" (a picture up to 8 MB, it will be resized). After saving, the new card opens.
The Latin spelling of the name is filled in automatically, the rest is translated. Such a teacher is marked "Added manually": they are not in the university's timetable, the card was filled in in the app.
Only cards added manually can be edited and deleted: cards from the university's timetable come from its site. On such a card a staff member with this right sees "Edit" and "Remove", and the teacher themselves, if their account is linked to the card, sees "Edit". Only a teacher with no lessons in the timetable can be removed; the linked account is unlinked at the same time.
Rooms
A list of rooms: the designation, the full name, the address and how many lessons take place in it. The search "Search room" looks by number, and the "Building" and "Floor" chips narrow the list — you can mark several, the "All" chip clears the choice. Only the buildings and floors that are in the directory are offered. On a computer the list is split into pages with the "Per page" choice, on a phone there is a "Show more" button at the bottom.
Rooms are gathered by building: above the rooms of each building is its name, for example "GUK-8", and rooms whose building is not known are under the line "Rooms without a building". Where the menu has "Map", at the end of a building's row there is a round button with a pin icon, "on the map": it opens the building's card on the campus map. What the button does is told by the caption on hover, and on a phone by a long press.
The list also has rooms that are in the timetable but did not get into the directory before, for example on Lublinskaya street, 88.
Where a room is, the room sheet shows: tap a room in this list — on a phone and on a computer — or a room number in a lesson card, in the weekly grid, in the list of free rooms or on the floor page. The first row of the sheet is "Room timetable": it opens the room's page (about it below). Then in the sheet — the building, the floor, "How to get there", the address and the "Route in Yandex Maps" button, which builds the way to the building from where you are now; what the directory does not have yet is marked "Not specified yet". Where the menu has "Map" and the room is marked on it, under "How to get there" there are also "Directions" — the way across the campus to the room from the room of your previous class right in the app, if the map can build a route — and "Show the building on the map": the building's card, straight on the room's floor.
The room page
Every room has its own page with the address "/auditories/…" and the room number at the end, for example "/auditories/1224". "Room timetable" in the room sheet and the QR code on the sticker on the door lead to it. The page is open without signing in, but search engines do not get it.
- At the top — the room number and a line on how to read it, for example "1224 — building 1 (GUK-1), floor 2, room 24".
- "Now" — whether the room is free or busy and until what time: "Free until 13:40", "Free for the rest of the day" or "Busy until 12:00". For a free room, below it says when the next lesson begins, for example "Next at 13:40: Physics". For a busy one — which lesson and for which groups is going on and the nearest free class, for example "Free from 13:40 to 15:10 · period 4", or "No free periods left today".
- "Today" — the lessons in this room for today in order; the one under way is marked "now". If there are no lessons — "No classes here today".
- "Where it is" — the building, the floor, the address and "How to get there". Where the menu has "Map" and the room is marked on it, below are "Directions" and "Show the building on the map"; there too is "Route in Yandex Maps" (or "Open in Yandex Maps" if the building has no point on the map).
- "All rooms" returns to the directory.
A page you have already opened is shown even without a network, from the last saved data. If there is no such room either in the directory or in today's timetable, the page says "This room is not in this semester's timetable" and offers to go to all the rooms.
Which rooms are free right now and until what time is shown by the page Occupancy — the "Free now" and "Rooms" tabs.
