News
Updated 28.10.2026
University and Institute News — with miit.ru , wish.rut.digital and from Telegram channels — collected in one tape without repetitions. New publications appear in the feed a few minutes after they are published in the source. Where the news is included, this is the second tab on the phone, immediately after the “Schedule”, and the second side menu item on the computer; where they are not, there is no tab. The “News and Events link RUT (MIIT) and VISH” on the group's schedule page, on the teacher's page, and on the AI assistant's blank screen also leads to the feed.
Tape
The news goes from new to old and is broken down by day: “Today”, “Yesterday”, then the day of the week and the date. Publications pinned by the editorial board are placed at the top with a pin icon; a hint on it will tell you which day the publication is pinned. Earlier posts load themselves when you scroll down; at the end of the feed, “you've looked at everything” and links to sites RUT and VISH with earlier news.
The feed is live. If you are at the very beginning of the feed, the newly released publication immediately rises to the top — you do not need to update anything. If you scrolled below and are reading, new publications are waiting on top of the plate “1 new”, “3 new”, and so on, so that the cards under it do not move. Click on the bar — new publications will go up, and the feed will scroll to the first of them; and if you go back to the beginning of the feed, they will go up without clicking. If the network went missing or you switched to another application, when you return, the feed itself will ask what happened during this time. The publication corrected by the source is updated on the spot, and the removed one is replaced by the short line “Publication deleted”.
The number on the “News” tab and the menu item, its activation, and the “Read All” button are detailed in the “Counter section on the tab”.
Publication card
- Source and time. Above is where the publication came from and when it was published, Moscow time. Hover the cursor or hold your finger on the time — the full date and time will be displayed. The publications themselves have VISH instead of the source — the author's name, and if the author has not subscribed, the “revision is VISH”.
- “changed”. The source corrected the post after it was released; a hint will tell you when the app noticed it.
- “Important”. The publication was noted by the editorial board.
- Photo. Several photos form a mosaic; if the photo is larger than it fits, the last one is “+N.” Click on the photo and it will open to the full screen. Scroll through the photo with a sideways movement, close it with a downward movement, and use the arrows and Escape on the computer. You can't zoom in on photos on your phone.
- Text. The long text is collapsed; “Reading in full” opens the entire publication.
- Event. If the publication is about an event, the date, time and place are indicated under the text, and the “Add to Calendar” button downloads the .ics file for the calendar on your phone or computer. The cancelled or rescheduled event is signed like this.
- Tags. Click on the tag to add it to the feed filters (for more information, see the “Search and Filters” section). The tag that you have subscribed to separately is marked with a small bell.
- Reactions. Under the post, there is the same series of reactions as for classes: the “Add Reaction” button opens a set of emojis, clicking on your reaction again removes it. You can put up to three reactions on one post, and the app will say so on the fourth. You can only see how many people put each reaction, but not who. You can set reactions after logging in. A reaction delivered without a network is immediately visible and will be sent when the network returns.
- Views. The number of times a post has been seen in the app's feed is VISH: viewing is counted when the card is at least half on the screen for a second, no more than one per day from one person or device. The number is shown when there are 10 or more views. Telegram views are not included here.
- “To share”. Sends or copies the link to the publication.
- “Source” and “Also in.” The link is to the original; if the same news came out in another place, below it is “also in” accordance with other sources. The links open in a new tab.
- “⋯” — “Complain”. A button with three dots on the card and on the publication page opens a menu: on the computer — a list under the button, on the phone — a panel at the bottom. In it, “Complain”: a feedback form will open immediately at the writing step, with the signature "Publication No. N: “title”". If you are logged in, the complaint will go away with a link to the publication, and the response will come to “My requests”. Without logging in, an email will open in the mail client, which already has a link to the publication. Editors have their own actions available in the same menu — see “For the editorial” office.
On your phone and tablet, hold your finger on the card to open the menu, as in Telegram. There is a row of emojis on top: tap on the desired one or, without releasing your finger, swipe to it and release it. Below are the actions: “Share”, “Copy the link”, “Copy the text” and “Open it in Telegram”, “Open it on the website” or “Open it in VKontakte”, depending on where the publication was published, “Notify about similar” ones: it opens a window for a new subscription, and the tags of this publication are suggested in “From this publication”, and “Complain”. The editorial office has her actions in the same place. Clicking past the menu closes it. There are the same reactions on the computer and “Share” it directly on the card.
The texts of the publications are shown as they were written by the source, in Russian. In the English and Chinese interfaces, this is stated above the ribbon. The VISH publications themselves may have versions in English and Chinese — those that the author wrote or checked himself; an unchecked automatic translation is not shown. On the page of such a publication, you will see it in the interface language. Russian Russian version If there is no version in your language, the publication is shown in Russian, and above the text it says “This publication is only available in Russian” or “This publication is not in your language, it is shown in Russian”.
Search and filters
Above the feed is “the News and Tag Search” field. The results appear by themselves when you stop typing; on your computer, you can open the field with the “/” key. While the field is empty, under it are “Recent” (the last five of your queries on this device, the cross removes the query) and “Popular tags”; when you type, the appropriate tags and “Search for “…””. Escape closes the prompts, the second press clears the field. It searches only when connected to the network. If nothing was found in “My” or in the feed of one institute, the “Search All RUT” button will repeat the search for all news.
There are a number of filters under the search.:
- “Mine” is the news of your institutes and there are only RUT. Institutes are selected in the feed settings; while they are not selected, it says so above the feed, next to the “Select Institutes” link.
- “All RUT” — all university and institute news. It opens the feed for the first time.
- ADH, AHA, VISH, WRITE — news from an institute. “One thing is selected from” Mine“, All RUT” and institutes.
- Subscriptions — with a bell icon (for more information, see “Subscriptions and Notifications”). Clicking shows subscription publications.
There is a separate row of tags below them. At the beginning is the “All Tags” button with a “#” icon. When the tags are selected, the number of selected ones is displayed on it. Next to it are tags that scroll to the side: first the selected ones (the cross removes the tag), then the 12 most frequent ones. The edges of the row turn pale only where there are more tags behind them. The tag from the publication card is also added to the filters. You can select up to three tags: if you click the fourth one in a row, it will displace the very first one.
“All tags” opens the “Tags” window — on the phone there is a panel at the bottom, on the computer there is a window in the middle. It contains all the news tags for 30 days with the number of publications for each. The “Find tag” field is searched for without taking “#” and case into account. The selected tags are first and ticked; clicking on the tag immediately changes the feed. When three tags are selected, the window will say so: to select another one, remove one of the selected ones. “Reset” removes all tags, “Done” closes the window. One click “Back” after the window returns the ribbon to the tags that came before it, no matter how many tags you change.
If one tag is selected and the search is empty, the feed title becomes this tag, and under it are “Publications with the tag” and what news is shown.
Under the filters — what can be done with the tape:
- “Read everything” — with a two-tick icon, visible only while there is something unread on the counter (see the “Counter on the tab”).
- Bell is a subscription to what is currently selected (see “Subscriptions and Notifications”).
- “Customize the feed” opens the feed settings.
- “Reset all filters” returns the ribbon to its default appearance; you can cancel the reset immediately after that.
- “Share” copies the link to the feed with these filters.
All filters and the query are written to the page address, for example “/news?scope=vish&tag=наука&q=грант”, so the link opens the same feed, and after reloading the filters remain. If you just open the “News”, the filters that you were in the feed with last time on this device will return.
Feed Settings
News feed in settings, “Notifications” section, “News” group:
- “My institutes” are switches ADX, AHA, VISH and WRITE. Their news shows “Mine”.
- “Show news only RUT” — if you turn it off, “Mine” will show only news from selected institutions.
- “News Notifications” — leads to subscriptions and notifications (see below).
- “Opening the feed” leads to the news.
If you are logged in, these settings are stored in your account and are the same on all your devices. Without logging in, they are stored on this device, and when logged in, they are transferred to the account if it does not already have such settings.
Subscriptions and notifications
A subscription is a feed filter that the app will notify you about new publications: with an icon on the “News” tab, a push on this device, or a bot message in Telegram and MAX. The subscription remembers what to send, where and when, and works as a quick filter in the feed. Who is already receiving the newsletter is not in the What section “yet”. The filters saved earlier became subscriptions without notifications and remained in the range of filters. While you haven't subscribed to anything, there are no subscriptions: the “My” icon is on, and push is off. The tag itself is turned off on the tab until you turn it on. See “the tag on the tab”.
Bell. When an institute or tag is selected in the feed, there is a bell next to “Set up the feed”: “Subscribe” — there is no subscription to this filter yet, “Subscription” — you are subscribed, “On pause” — subscription is suspended, “Notifications are turned off” — the general switch “Notifications and news icons” are turned off. There is “no bell when searching and on the Entire RUT” feed without tags: you cannot subscribe to the entire feed without conditions. The hint on the bell (when hovering over the computer, long-pressing on the phone) tells you what the subscription is for and where it comes from.
The subscription window. The bell opens a three-part window.
- “What” is included in the subscription, for example “#sports · All RUT”. “Change” opens the selection: institute (All RUT, ADH, AHA, VISH, WRITE), a switch “With general university news” and up to three tags from those in the feed. If you already have such a subscription, the app will tell you about it and offer to open it.
- “Where” is the "Icon on the “News” tab", and where the newsletter is enabled and you are logged in, there is also “Push on this device”, “Telegram” and “MAX”. The channel, which is not ready yet, instead of the off switch, offers a button that adjusts it with a single click: “How to turn” on, “Install”, “Connect” or “Open the bot”. Push notifications are enabled for the entire device: schedule changes will also be received on it. Where there is no newsletter yet, the window says so: the subscription works on the icon and in the feed.
- “When” — “Immediately” or “Once a day”, summary time and quiet hours. The icon is updated immediately anyway.
“Subscribe” saves the subscription. If no channel is selected, the button is called “Save without notifications”, and the subscription remains a quick filter in the feed.
Edit, pause, delete. The bell at the subscribed filter opens the same subscription: the changes are effective immediately, without the save button. “Suspend...” — “For a day”, “For a week”, or “Until I turn” it on; on pause, the subscription does not send anything, “Resume” turns it on again. “Deleting a subscription” deletes it, and it can be “returned” in another 4 seconds from the message at the bottom of the screen.
How much. You can add up to five subscriptions, not counting the “My” line. If there is no space, the window will show your subscriptions with a “Delete” button for each one.
“News notifications”. The settings page (“Settings” → Notifications “→ News” notifications; the line there also shows where the news is coming from and how many subscriptions):
- “Notifications and news icons” are a common switch. Turned off removes the tag on the tab, push and bot messages about news; subscriptions are saved and will start working when you turn it on. Changes in the schedule and announcements of the institute come as before.
- “Show new news” — immediately below it: the number of unread “news” items in the side menu and on the tab bar. Disabled is an item without an icon. This switch only changes the counter: it doesn't touch push or bot messages.
- “My subscriptions · N out of 5” — the first line is “My” (your institutions from the ribbon settings) with a toggle icon, below that are your subscriptions with the status (“On pause until ...”, “Push does not reach — allow in the browser”, and so on) and a “new subscription”. Clicking on a subscription opens the subscription window; each subscription has its own page at the address “/settings/notifications/news/…”. Below are popular tags: you can subscribe to the tag with one click.
- “Summary and silence” (where the newsletter is enabled) — the time of the summary once a day (from 07:00 to 22:00, every half hour) and quiet hours (by default from 23:00 to 08:00). Moscow time. During quiet hours, push and bot messages about news are waiting for them to end and arrive in one message “per night: N subscription publications”; the counter is updated as usual, and schedule changes always arrive. Subscription publications “Once a day” and all over three messages per hour or ten per day come at the selected time of the summary with one “News message per day · N” with a link to all summary publications; if there is one such publication, it comes as a regular message. If a post has been deleted before, you have turned off notifications or put your subscription on pause, it will not arrive. If another news push arrives within 10 minutes, it tells you how many have arrived.: “News about your subscriptions: N.”
- “Channels” (in the same place) are the same push, Telegram and MAX channels as for schedule changes, with their status and buttons that fix the cause.
Without logging in. Subscriptions are stored on this device and manage only the icon; push, Telegram, and MAX are subscribed “after logging” in. When logging in, subscriptions from the device are transferred to the account; if any do not fit into the limit, the application will show them in a list: each can be “replaced” with one of the subscriptions of the account or you do “not need” to mark.
In a chat with a bot. Where the newsletter is enabled, you can subscribe to the news directly in Telegram or MAX, without logging into the application. The /news command (“Subscription news” in the bot menu) shows the subscriptions of this chat. While they are not there, the bot offers the buttons “+ ADX”, “+ AHA”, "+ VISH", “+ WRITE” and “+ All RUT”: where there are few publications, the news will come immediately, where there are many — the evening summary at 18:00. You can also subscribe using the subscription link opened in the messenger: such a subscription sends news immediately.
- Subscription card. The bot responds to each subscription with a message with buttons “Immediately” and “In the evening summary” (check the box next to the selected one), “Pause” (on pause — “Return”) and “Unsubscribe”.
- How much. There are up to five news subscriptions in a personal chat, and one in a group: a new subscription replaces the previous one, and the bot will tell you which one.
- Under the news. Every message that comes from a chat subscription has an “Unsubscribe” button; after that, the bot will prompt you to “Subscribe again”.
- List. In /news, each subscription has two buttons: “Suspend...” or “Return...” and “✕” — unsubscribe. If the chat is linked to your account, there are also your subscriptions from the application that come to this messenger, marked “from the application”; “✕” such subscription only stops sending it here, the rest is in the application.
- /groups and /stop. Both teams show the news next to the schedules that the chat follows. “Disable all” in/stop deletes and chat subscriptions for news.
- The bot is blocked. If the bot is blocked or removed from the group, the subscriptions of this chat to the news are deleted immediately.
The tag on the tab
How to enable it. At first, there is no counter: the number appears in the “News” only if you want it yourself. Will a “Show new news card appear once under the feed heading?”:
- “Turn” it on and the counter will start working. If the general “Notifications and News icons” switch was turned off, it will turn on too. The push permission is not requested.
- “If not, the” card will disappear and will not appear again.
The answer is stored in the account and on this device, so the card will no longer be asked on your other devices. If you replied without logging in, the response will be transferred to your account upon logging in, if it does not already have one of its own. You can change your mind at any time: “Settings” → Notifications “→ News” Notifications, toggle “Show new news”.
When the counter is turned on, the number on the “News” tab and at the menu item shows how many new publications have been released for your subscriptions: “My” line and for each subscription that has the “Icon” turned on and is not on pause. Each subscription counts from the place where you read it; a publication that fits multiple subscriptions counts once. The publications for the last 30 days are counted, and only those that came out after the first launch of the application on this device. More than nine is shown as “9+”. A new publication is added to the number as soon as it is published.
The number is reduced in two ways:
- A card that you see in any feed (at least half on the screen for a second) immediately stops counting. Only this device remembers it, 7 days.
- You scrolled to the beginning of the feed, and only those subscriptions that this feed shows in their entirety become read. For example, the “My” feed marks the line “My” as read, and the subscription publication is “#sport. · All RUT” from another institute will remain on the counter until you see it.
“Read everything”. While there is something unread on the counter, there is a “Read All” button in the header of the feed. It marks all the news on all subscriptions as read at once — if you are logged in, on all your devices; without logging in, on this device. “All the news has been read” at the bottom of the screen and you can click “Cancel” for another 5 seconds: the counter will return to what it was. If you managed to read something on another device in those seconds, what you read there will remain read. A hint on the button (when hovering over the computer, long-pressing on the phone): “Mark all the news as read — on all your devices”.
The “New by subscription” line. If there are publications on the counter that the open feed does not show, there is a line like “New by subscription above the first card: 3 · #sports · All RUT and 1” more: the first subscription outside of this feed and how many more there are. A line appears only when you open the feed and does not shift what you are reading; the number in it changes in place, and when everything is viewed, it writes “subscriptions — everything is viewed”.
The “New by Subscription” screen. The line opens all new publications by subscription — exactly the ones that the counter counts, the new ones first; under the heading — “By N subscriptions · the new ones first”. Scroll to the beginning and the counter will reset to zero. The “entire feed” returns to the full feed, which opens “News Notifications”. If there is no new one, the screen will say so: There are “no new subscription publications”; if the general switch is turned off, “News notifications are turned off” and the Enable button is “turned” on.
Summary of the “news for the day”. The link from the summary opens the “News for the day screen once a day” with the caption “Summary for ...” — publications that are included in it. Summaries are stored for 30 days; if you click on an older link, the screen will say “This summary is outdated” and prompt you to open the feed. Neither this screen nor the “New Subscription” changes the filters you left the feed with, and they don't get into search engines.
Hints. Hover over the “News” in the side menu or hold your finger on the tab on your phone. The hint will tell you how much is new for your subscriptions and where the counter is set up, or that the counter is turned off. When the counter shows the number for the first time, the explanation “Counter — new publications of your institute will appear next to the tab (on the computer — next to the menu item) once. You can select other themes or turn it” off with the “Customize” and “Clear” buttons. It does not appear in the first seconds on the screen or while you are scrolling.
The icon on the app icon. In the installed application, if notifications are allowed in it, the same number is displayed on the application icon and disappears when there are no new publications.
How to turn it off. The “Show new news” switch “on the News Notifications” page removes the tag everywhere, including from the app icon, and leaves notifications as they were. The general “Notifications and News icons” switch removes both the tag and news notifications; the disabled “Icon” for the “My” line and all subscriptions also affects the tag. When the meter is turned on again, what went out while it was turned off does not count.
Publication page
Each publication has its own address of type “/news/123”. It has all the text, all the photos and a list of the “Source and copies” — where the publication came out, with links. If the source deleted the post, asked not to show it, or the editorial board hid it, the page will say so and offer to return “to the news”. If the news was combined with the same one from another source, it should be searched in the feed. The editors see the “Return to Feed” button on the page of the publication they have hidden.
For the editorial office
This section is for employees with the right to “Moderate the news feed and sources” or “Approve news for publication”. The others don't see these buttons.
Menu “⋯” publications. With the right to “Moderate the news feed and sources” in the card menu and the publication page (and in the long-press menu on the phone), in addition to “Complain”, there is:
- “To fix” / “Unpin” — the pinned publication is at the top of the ribbon with a pin icon.
- “Edit tags” — the “Publication Tags” window: remove the cross tag, add a new one (one word up to 40 characters: letters, numbers, “-” or “_”) or select from “Frequent tags”. Up to four tags: up to three topics and one institute. The source and author tags you saved will no longer change; “Returning the source tags” gives them back to the source.
- “Hide from everyone” — the publication disappears from all readers. Your card remains in place with the “Hidden by moderator · date label. Readers do not see” it and “return” it with a button. Nothing is deleted.
- “Remove on request...” — at the request of the copyright holder or the hero of the publication. Choose what to remove: “One photo” (and which one), the “entire photo of the publication”, or the “Entire publication”, and fill in the “Base”: whose request or application number (it is seen only by moderators, it is written in the journal). “Will” he ask you to “permanently remove it?” and he will explain what will happen; “Remove permanently” deletes photos from storage, and they will not return, even if the source publishes them again. This cannot be undone — if in doubt, it is better to “hide it from everyone”.
"Mark “Important”" / "Remove “Important”" — in the same menu, with either of the two rights, for employee publications (source publications are not marked this way).
“Moderation”. Next to the feed title is a “Moderation” button with the number of publications that are awaiting approval. It opens the “News Moderation” panel with two tabs:
- “On approval” (with the right to “Approve news for publication”) — publications by employees who are waiting for approval, from old to new. “Approve” releases the publication to the feed. The “reject” asks you to write what to fix — the author will read it — and “Send it to the author” and returns the publication to him. You can neither approve nor reject your publication: instead of buttons, “another editor approves your publication”.
- “Sources” (with the right to “Moderate the news feed and sources”) — all sources of the feed: website, Telegram or VKontakte, how many of their publications are in the feed, whether the source is shown or “Hidden from” what date and why. The switch at the source hides it: will the application ask to “Hide the source?” — all his publications will disappear from all readers, and the source crawl will stop; you can specify the reason. Nothing is deleted: turn it on again and the publications will return. Below is “the Subscription Newsletter switch: pause stops push and bot messages about news” from the next publication, the accumulated time will wait.
You can approve publications and mark “Important” things only from your account — not with an access key or a test bot.
How to write a publication (for employees)
Employees with the right to “Publish their news” or “Post ads for institutes, courses, and groups” have a “Write” button in the header of the feed. She opens a new publication: from one editor, you can release news in the feed, send an announcement to the addressees, or do both at once. The page is visible only after logging in and does not get into search engines.
- “Type” — “News”, “Event”, or “Post”. You don't have to write the title for the post.
- “Title” and “Text”. The text can be formatted using buttons above the field: bold, italics, subtitle, list, quote, code and link. If the text contains “today”, “tomorrow”, or “this week”, the editor will suggest writing the exact date: in a week, these words will become untrue.
- “Photos” — up to 10 pieces. Before sending, each photo is compressed on the device to JPEG, without the geometry and camera data. Photos can be rearranged, a cover can be selected, and a description can be added for blind readers. If the photo could not be read or the server did not accept it, the application will tell you why and offer to save the image as a JPEG and add it again.
- “Event” (for the “Event” type) — start, end, or “All day”, location, audience, organizer, and registration link (it must start with https://).
- “Where to publish” — two switches, you can do both:
- «В ленте новостей» — для кого новость: «Весь РУТ» или институты, на которые у вас есть права. Новость для всего РУТ выходит только после одобрения вторым редактором; без прав на весь университет этот вариант недоступен, и подсказка на нём это объясняет. Если ваши права ограничены группами, публикуйте через объявление.
- “Send as an ad” to addressees (To “Everyone”, institutes, courses or groups), channels (“In the app”, “Push”, “Telegram”, “MAX”) and “Show before” — just like on the “Ad” page. The text of the ad is like that of a news item (headline and text without formatting) or written separately. English and Chinese are translated automatically upon publication.
- “Tags” — up to three.
- “Sign with my name” — without a mark under the publication there will be “Revision VISH”.
- “When” — “Now” or “Plan” no further than 90 days in advance. The ad goes away immediately, so there are no plans to publish it with it.
To the right of the editor (on the wide screen) or on the “Preview” tab, the card is visible as readers will see it in the feed. On the phone, the editor is divided into two steps: “Text” and “Preview and Audience”. If the publication has no title or less than 300 characters of its text, the editor will warn you that it will not get into search engines.
The button at the bottom is named based on what happens: “Publish”, “Submit for Approval”, or “Schedule”. After sending, “Published”, “Sent to the editor for approval”, or “Scheduled for ... will appear at the bottom of the screen.” If the server has “failed, Unpublished” will appear above the editor with the reason given by the server, and “Fix” will return the text to the editor; the message “Publication has not gone away will say this in the feed — open the editor to fix” it.
Draft. While you are writing, the draft is saved on this device — two seconds after the last edit and when you leave the page. If you close the page and open it again, the editor will ask you to “Continue the draft from ...?” — “Continue” or “Start over”. The editor is unavailable until you respond.: this way, the new text won't erase the saved one.
Without a network. The button is called “Publish when the network appears”: the publication is waiting on the device and will leave once as soon as the connection returns, even if you have already left this page. While she is waiting, the “Write” button in the feed says “waiting to be sent”, and in the editor you can “Cancel the publication” — the text will return to the editor. If there is already another text in the editor at this time, the application will first ask whether to replace it (“Replace” or “Leave my text”); the same applies when “Correcting” it. When you log out of your account, the draft and the pending publications are deleted from the device.
“My publications”. Under the editor — your publications with the following status: “Draft”, Under “approval”, “Planned”, “Published”, “Rejected” (with the reason that the editor wrote), as well as “Hidden by the moderator” and “Deleted”.
Without a network and in case of failures
The feed, which is open at least once, then opens without the Internet: the application immediately shows the saved copy and updates it as soon as the network appears. Photos without a network will be uploaded later. If the server has not responded or there is no network, the feed writes about it and tries again on its own — you do not need to click anything. When you log out of your account, the saved news and their photos are deleted from the device.
What is not yet available
The feed is not getting into search engines yet. There is no selection of individual sources yet. Where the newsletter is not yet enabled, push notifications, bot messages, and news summaries are not received: the selected channels and times are saved and will work when it is enabled. At the test stand, the newsletter is currently being sent only to test accounts. The button that gives you a subscription link to chat with the bot is not yet in the app: the chat is subscribed to by the /news team. It is not yet visible in the subscription window how many publications per week it will bring approximately.
